Petronas RAPID Project,
Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia.

Overview

Malaysian oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) is developing a refinery and petrochemical integrated development project (RAPID) and other associated facilities in Pengerang, Southern Johor, Malaysia, through a project called Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC).

Launched in May 2012, PIC is part of the larger Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) proposed by the Johor state government. Total investment for the PIPC project is approximately MYR97bn ($27bn), of which the RAPID project costs MYR57bn ($16bn) and the associated facilities require MYR40bn ($11bn).

Poratha Corporation has been deeply entrenched and involved with the RAPID project since early 2016.

​

Our involvement at several stages and parcels of the development for this project alone are evident of our vast experience at this site where our achievements and project completion activities are extensive.

​

  • Completed piping fabrication of 53,000 DB and 265 MT special support for Steam cracking complex unit under Toyo Engineering Ltd Japan.

​

  • Piping (25,000 DB) and its supports (480 MT) fabrication and erection in SRU (Sulphur recovery unit) and ARU (Amine recovery unit) under Petrofac Engineering Sdn Bhd.

​

  • Completed turbine pressure piping and lube oil piping for 320 MW.

Sulphur Recovery Unit

  • Completed erection of fire water storage tank capacity of 25,400 cu mt (2 nos), 14,540 cu mt (1 no), 9,817.5 cu mt (2 nos) under Ice Petroleum Sdn Bhd.

  • Completed fabrication and assembly of 15 nos pipe rack module and rigging platform for Exxonmobil Singapore under Dynamac.
